Logic Whiplash

SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA - SEPTEMBER 01: Beth, a Image by Getty Images via DaylifeBy now everyone has heard of Natalie Dylan a 22-year-old college student who is selling her virginity online through a deal with a legal Nevada brothel.

Of course, such a thing has the Religious Right's panties all in a wad and they're jumping up and down screaming that the Federal government step in and stop the online auction from going forward. You know, the same Federal government they're always screaming about meddling in state and local affairs when they try to enforce civil rights laws and such. Yeah, that one.

"It does seem crazy," said Mathew Staver, director of the Liberty Center for Law and Policy. "The rest of the country has an interest in stopping that kind of activity from spreading from Nevada to their home state."

Staver said because the bidding was being conducted online, federal law could be applied to stop the auction from going through.

"Nevada has been out of step with the rest of the country for many years with regards to prostitution, and that's why I think it's important for federal prosecutors to look into this, so that Nevada does not dictate the morals and moral decency for the rest of the nation," Staver told FOXNews.com.

Does your head hurt after reading that? No, you read it right. Mr. Staver has decided that he should be allowed to dictate the morals and moral decency that applies to Nevada despite the fact he does not live there because if he doesn't then it means that Nevada is dictating the morals and moral decency of other places because of something that is to take place within its sovereign borders.

Do the law degrees these right wingnuts get come out of Cracker Jack boxes? Certainly, the don't include courses in logic.

Hey, Mat, shut up already. How come YOU get to dictate to the girl what she can do with her very own God given body? Oh, right... you think you're God.
